The Third Edition of the Night of Museums and Cultural Spaces

Awe and an Invitation to Discover

For the third consecutive year, the National Foundation of Museums and the Majorelle Garden Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, are organizing the Night of Museums and Cultural Spaces on Friday, June 21, 2024. This exceptional event, celebrating the beginning of summer, offers audiences of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to visit many cultural spaces and museums across various cities in Morocco for free, from 6 PM to midnight. Cities include Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Fes, Meknes, Tangier, Tetouan, Oujda, Asilah, Safi, Azilal, Essaouira, and Agadir.

In Rabat, visitors can explore the Mohamed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Musée de l'Histoire et des Civilisations. In Marrakech, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech and The Museum of Marrakech are must-visit locations. Fes boasts the Dar Batha Museum and the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts & Crafts.

The Night of Museums and Cultural Spaces is an invitation to discover or rediscover current exhibitions, with spaces open for exploring archaeological, ethnographic, and artistic pieces. These creations from the past and present reveal to all the richness and diversity of our heritage through various themes. Since its inception in 2022, the Night of Museums and Cultural Spaces has attracted an increasing number of visitors, becoming a significant event in the Moroccan cultural calendar.

Fondation TGCC, Espace d’Art Artorium

  • Mustaqbal Prize: Promotes emerging artists by offering them the opportunity to exhibit their work.
  • Current Exhibitions:
    • 16 artists supporting the NGO Enfance Maghreb Avenir through an exhibition from May 30 to June 24, 2024.
    • Photographer Yasmine Hatimi: Exhibition from May 23 to July 20, 2024, exploring masculinity in contemporary societies.

Galerie Abla Ababou, Rabat

  • Points de Vue: Exhibition from May 25 to July 2, 2024, featuring 17 photographers addressing diverse themes from societal issues to intimate reflections.

Musée National de la Photographie, Rabat

  • Current Exhibitions:
    • Bamako Dreams 30 and Adolescent Wonderland by Naomi Hobson.

Institut Cervantes, Rabat

Located in the city center, the institute offers 16 classrooms, a conference room, and an exhibition hall.

Espace d’Art Actua, Casablanca

  • Fibres d’Artistes: An exhibition featuring works from the 6th promotion of the Academy of Arts, blending traditional and augmented reality art forms.

Galerie 38, Casablanca & Marrakech

Promotes contemporary art with a focus on emerging talents and diverse artistic expressions.

Centre d'Art Moderne de Tétouan

  • Current Exhibition: Aziz Azrhai's "Pas-sage 2" from May 31 to June 24, 2024, exploring themes of transition and change through a series of paintings.
